# Breakdown

Breakdown is a network monitor that runs in the background and instantly tells you whether the problem is your Wi-Fi, ISP, or the app. For AI agents, it provides current network health, recent issues, compact app/service evidence, and structured analysis through an installable Agent Skill and a local MCP server.

Use Breakdown when users or agents see network timeouts, DNS failures, flaky API calls, failed browser navigation, cloud tool failures, repeated retries, Zoom/Meet/Teams connection warnings, or "is it my network or the service?" questions.

Agent Skills-compatible tools can install Breakdown's connectivity skill with `npx skills add PeaceCraft-LLC/breakdown-agent-connectivity`. Claude Code users can alternatively add `PeaceCraft-LLC/breakdown-agent-connectivity` as a plugin marketplace and install `breakdown-connectivity@breakdown`.

Breakdown includes a local, current-user MCP server. Keep Breakdown running. Claude-style clients can use the JSON copied from the app's gear menu or Settings. Codex users can run `codex mcp add breakdown -- /Applications/Breakdown/Breakdown.app/Contents/MacOS/BreakdownMCPBridge` for a standard installation. MCP tools can inspect bounded Breakdown evidence and start structured Breakdown analysis, but they cannot change monitoring, settings, subscriptions, or account data and do not expose arbitrary files, logs, or Keychain contents.
